Worked example
- You buy a car for € 12,000. At BCA the buyer fee is € 460 (2026 rate, excl. VAT). At Car Network Europe it is € 289: € 171 less.
- At Car Network Europe the fee stays the same for more expensive cars; at BCA it becomes a percentage (1.75%) above € 15,000.
- Transport and other costs come on top on both platforms. We compare with BCA because it is the only fully published rate.
Protection after purchase
- Car Network Europe: every car with photos and a damage report; you inspect the car on receipt, and if it materially differs from the description, the purchase is reversed.
- BCA: claim within 24 hours (BCA delivery) or 48 hours (other carrier), with a € 400 excess.
- eCarsTrade: claim within 48 hours, at least € 300 excl. VAT, with exclusions.
- CarCollect: buyer and seller settle a deviation between themselves, with CarCollect support if they cannot agree.
- AUTO1.com: claims for defects are largely excluded in the terms; notice within 1 working day.
